Former Asos and Topman buyer Laura Southern is moving to online styling service Thread.
Southern has been at Topman for three years and 10 months, starting as senior buyer for brands and concessions and becoming buying manager nine months ago. Before that she was trend and premium brands buyer at Asos.
She will join London-based Thread on August 1 as business development manager to lead and secure partnerships with retailers and brands.
Grace Baker has also joined the team as business development manager. Baker was previousily head of merchandising and brand development at MiH Jeans and global brand development consultant for Whistles.
Former buying director of menswear at Selfridges and buying manager at etailer Mr Porter, Terry Betts, joined Thread as head of business development in early 2015.
Thread was founded in 2012 by entrepreneurs Kieran O’ Neill, Ben Phillips and Ben Kucsan, and launched with $25,000 (£17,320) from American accelerator programme Y Combinator.
Following several rounds of investment, Thread secured another £4m in funding this June from private equity firm Beringea, existing investor Balderton Capital and a number of angel investors.
