Topman's James Blacklock to return to M&Co

James Blacklock will rejoin M&Co after leaving his position as Topman’s merchandising director, Drapers understands.

Blacklock held his Topman role since 2014, and was said to have left the menswear retailer for personal reasons.

It is not yet confirmed which role Blacklock will take up at M&Co or where in the UK he will be based.

Blacklock first joined the Arcadia Group in 1997, holding various merchandising roles before leaving in 2002 to join M&Co as a merchandiser.

He then joined New Look as merchandiser for a six-month period in 2005 before returning to M&Co in 2006, working his way up to merchandising director.

He left to join Burton in 2012, a position he held until becoming Topman’s merchandising director.
