Topshop and Miss Selfridge to introduce Visa mobile payment system

Topshop and Miss Selfridge will introduce a new mobile payments system by Visa from June this year.

Visa has gained the support of banks representing 55% of the UK’s 130 million card holders for its V.me digital wallet, while retailers from the Arcadia Group including Dorothy Perkins, Topman and Wallis, have signed up to the new system in the UK.

V.me is designed to offer simple, secure online payments to increase the convenience of online shopping. It aims to reduce the proportion of sales that are abandoned during the checkout process, which it estimates to be over 68%.

The V.me service can be accessed from any device and stores multiple payment cards, which means shoppers don’t need to manually enter card details for each transaction. Users log into a digital wallet with an email address and password to make payments quickly and safely.
