Topshop has announced British designer JW Anderson as its next collaboration, with a womenswear collection from the London College of Fashion graduate due out later this year.
The collection, made up of denim, knitwear and outerwear pieces, will launch in September with a second collection launching early next year.
Anderson previously worked with Topshop earlier this year when he created a T-shirt to celebrate the 10th year of sponsorship of the British Fashion Council’s NewGen scheme.
Of the new collaboration, Anderson said: “It gives me the opportunity to reach a much wider audience with my designs. It has always been very important to me that my collections are made accessible to anyone interested in fashion and design.”
The high street retailer has previously collaborated with designers such as Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll and Christopher Kane.
Topshop creative director Kate Phelan said the collection is a “new and exciting” approach for Topshop’s collaborations. She added: “The capsule collection is a best of all his design ideas to date, a sort of must have wardrobe of covetable pieces by this unique designer. The interesting twist however is the cool collectable items that will make up the rest of this collection which JW Anderson has picked himself.”
