Topshop confirms New York location

Sir Philip Green has confirmed Topshop will unveil its first New York flagship in September next year.

The retailer has signed a 15-year lease on premises on 480 Broadway - the former Yellow Rat Bastard skate store - as predicted by Drapers (November 10, 2007) .

The 40,000 sq ft unit will undergo an extensive refit and refurbishment programme to ready the store for the Topshop and Topman US debut next year.

Green said: “I am hopeful that this will be the start of our American development of the Topshop and Topman brands, with several further sites being considered.”

Green confirmed that additional conversations were taking place about expansion in to other international markets where Topshop is not currently represented.
