Topshop will today open the doors of its first store in France, with Arcadia boss Sir Philip Green praising it as “the jewell in the crown” of its European expansion.
The 1,938 sq ft area in Parisian department store Galleries Lafayette will showcase the womenswear retailer’s core collections, denim and footwear plus its premium Boutique line, its London Fashion Week collection Unique and designer collaborations.
“However, with Paris being such an important fashion capital, we are hopeful that this opening will be the jewel in the crown, and the start of the journey to bring Topshop to even more fashion lovers with our partners at Galeries Lafayette.”
The retailer has ramped up its international expansion this year, opening its first store in Hong Kong, and expanding in other territories including the US.
In August Topshop revealed it would extend its presence in US department store chain Nordstrom.
The womenswear chain originally opened 14 stores in September last year.
