Exclusive: Topshop/Topman retail director exits

Craig McGregor has left his position as retail director of Topshop/Topman after eight years and will join Specsavers shortly in the same role, Drapers can reveal.

McGregor first worked at Topshop/Topman’s parent company Arcadia Group as a regional controller from 2000 until 2002, when he left to join Matalan as retail director.

In 2007, he moved to Debenhams in the role of sales director, before finally rejoining Arcadia as retail director for the Topshop and Topman fascias in 2009.

His departure follows news that Wesley Taylor, the managing director of Arcadia-owned menswear retailer Burton, has left his role after more than 10 years, as exclusively revealed by Drapers last week.

In November, Drapers revealed that Miss Selfridge retail director Gerry Harte had exited after almost 20 years at Arcadia. At the time, sources told Drapers there had been a number of head office redundancies.

A spokesman for Arcadia declined to comment on McGregor’s departure.
