Twiggy slams fur on the LFW catwalk

Model Twiggy has criticised designers for using real fur at London Fashion Week.

The model said she was disappointed in designers for using fur from animals kept in “terrible and inhumane conditions”.

She told The Telegraph she supported a new report from Animal Defenders International (ADI) which revealed horrific conditions and cruelty at certified fur farms in Finland which supply UK designers.

Twiggy said: “I am very said that some designers are still using real fur when the fake alternatives are so effective. I hope this report helps the fashion industry realise that these poor animals are kept i such terrible conditions.”

ADI chief executive Jan Creamer said: “It is disappointing to see fur making a comeback on the catwalks.”
