Two bosses exit British Land

Two of British Land’s most senior bosses will leave the property company at the end of March as part of a organisational shakeup.

Tim Roberts, head of offices, and Charlie Maudsley, head of retail, leisure and residential, are leaving British Land, which owns shopping centres Meadowhall in Sheffield and Drake Circus in Plymouth, by mutual agreement. Roberts has been at British Land for over twenty years and Maudsley joined in 2010.

The landlord said it was folding its retail and offices arms into one as part of a new focus on mixed-use campuses that combine shops, homes and office space, according to The Telegraph.

Office and retail activity will now be managed by newly appointed head of real estate Darren Richards.

Company voluntary arrangements (CVAs) and administrations have cost British Land £14.7m in the past 18 months, it was revealed in the property firm’s half-year results, which were released at the end of last year.
