Ugg president to step down

Connie Rishwain, president of US company Deckers’ fashion and lifestyle brands and its Australian sheepskin footwear brand Ugg, is stepping down to spend more time with her family.

Deckers has not set out a timeline for her exit or plans for a replacement.

Rishwain joined Deckers as vice president of merchandising for footwear brands Teva, Simple and Ugg in 1995, becoming president of Ugg in 2002.

She spoke of being “incredibly proud” of building the brand into a $1.5bn (£1bn) business, adding: “After much consideration, I’ve decided now is the right time to start the next chapter in my life and allow new leadership to further build on the strong foundation we’ve created.”

Deckers chief executive and chair of the board Angel Martinez thanked Rishwain for her contribution to the business and wished her the best for the future.
