UK comeback for Von Dutch

Streetwear brand Von Dutch is being relaunched in the UK by a new licensee for autumn 08 with a heritage-styled collection.

Von Dutch UK will oversee all production and design. Von Dutch UK managing director Kevin Burns said: “We have signed a three-year deal to distribute and manufacture clothing, accessories and footwear in the UK. Prices are lower to give retailers a better profit margin, and to give the brand a more mainstream appeal.”

Von Dutch UK has secured the licence from French company Group R, which acquired the brand from its US owners two years ago.

The new Von Dutch range comprises about 200 pieces across men’s and women’s wear, covering T-shirts, jeans, vests and leather jackets, as well as accessories and footwear. Prices range from £9 to £150.

The brand’s UK return follows a two-year hiatus since it was dropped by premium young fashion agency Prelude.

  • thats a scary one. the brand was potentially going to be great in the UK, but it was the amount of fakes and the over saturation of every z list celeb wearing the hats etc that caused it to be a bit naff. Im glad im not a rep trying to flog that dead horse.
