UK Fashion Export finalists revealed

Finalists have been announced for the UK Fashion Export Awards 2009 which will take place in June.

Finalists have been announced in seven of the 11 categories. They are:

Accessories

Alex Monroe, Cutler & Gross, Denisonboston, Misa Harada, Storksak

Contemporary

Baracuta, Ben Sherman, Supremebeing

Heritage

Eribé Knitwear, Henry Poole & Co, John Smedley

High Octane Glamour

Ariella, Jenny Packham, Myla

Lingerie & Beach Fashion

Myla, Pistol Panties, Playful Promises

New Exporter

Carolyn Massey, Handwritten, Vidler & Nixon

Small Business

Denisonboston, Eribé Knitwear, Pistol Panties

The UK Fashion Export Awards will be presented at an event at The Landmark London on June 4, hosted by actress Joanna Lumley.

Winners of the Designer Business, Footwear, Retailer of the Year and the Gold Award will also be announced at the event.

The UK Fashion Export Awards judging panel, chaired by Emap Connect managing director Steve Newbold, includes Muriel Piaser from Prêt à Porter Paris, Nick Cook of Moda Menswear, Stuart Rock of Real Business and Sue Butler of Kurt Salmon Associates.

Prizes for winners include stands at So Ethic in Paris, Moda Menswear in Birmingham, Prêt à Porter Paris or The Train in New York, Mode City Paris & Interfilière and Pure Accessories in London. Other prizes include subscriptions to WGSN.com.

UK Fashion Exports, is the export division of the British Clothing Industry Association.
