UK indie buyers flock to Pitti Uomo

The 20.4% rise in UK visitors to Florentine menswear show Pitti Uomo translated into a strong event for exhibitors, although spring 12 orders were largely stable.

After the show closed last Friday, exhibitors told Drapers the four-day event had been buoyant and that while trade was difficult for some retailers back home, the mood for spring 12 was optimistic.

Anecdotally there appeared to be more UK indies attending than in recent years, with buyers spotted from Choice in Essex, Oi Polloi in Manchester and Start in London. Etailer Mr Porter and multiple Scotts were also represented, while Amazon visited for the first time.
