US sportswear giant Under Armour is looking to open stores in London within the next year as part of a retail expansion in Europe, Drapers understands.
Property sources said the brand has been looking for suitable sites in the UK for some time, although it is yet to commit to a deal. It is not yet known how many or where the sites will be located.
Under Armour overtook Adidas to become the second biggest sportswear brand in the US in terms of sales last year, behind Nike.
It currently trades online in the UK from its own ecommerce site, as well as from stores including John Lewis, Sporting Pro, DW Sports and American Golf.
Under Armour declined to comment.
