Young fashion chains Urban Outfitters and Republic are the latest signings to the Liverpool One shopping development, giving both their first stores in the city.
Neil Barber, head of retail leasing for Grosvenor, which is developing the scheme, said it was on schedule to open in late spring next year. He said about 70% of the 160-unit development had been let, with more than 100 retailers interested in the remaining space. "We're working on a rate of agreeing 10 lettings a month," he said.
The 12,750 sq ft two-level Republic store, which will be one of the retailer's biggest in the UK, will be on family-oriented South John Street, alongside Jane Norman and Oasis.
Urban Outfitters will take a 9,450 sq ft two-level store on Paradise Street, described by Barber as housing an "edgier young fashion mix".
Liverpool One, anchored by Debenhams and John Lewis, will add 1.4 million sq ft of retail space to the city. Its launch will be supported with a £5m ad campaign on TV and in print media.
The opening coincides with Liverpool becoming the European Capital of Culture for 2008.
