Urban Outfitters president resigns

President of US lifestyle retailer Urban Outfitters Stephen Murray has resigned from his role after a year at the company.

Murray, who joined Urban Outfitters in April 2010, stepped down from his role as global president to move to London and “pursue an opportunity with a wholesale business having an international focus”. Murray was previously president of VF Action Sports Coalition, part of the US-based brandhouse VF Corporation, overseeing brands including Vans.

Chief executive officer Glen Senk will fill the role on an interim basis while the company searches for a new president.

Senk said: “I would like to thank Steve for his hard work over the course of the past year and his contribution to the organization.”
