Urban Outfitters UK sales jump

Urban Outfitters Group has reported a 10% rise in UK sales, to £206m, for the year to January 2018.

Sales and profits at the group’s UK arm – which includes both the young fashion retailer Urban Outfitters and lifestyle retailer Anthropologie – were up.

The group made a £5.9m profit, reversing a £2.7m loss in the previous year.

The growth in the market was attributed to new stores and a strong online presence. The group plans to expand the number of stores it operates in the UK and Europe, as well as adding ranges to its online offer in a bid to further drive sales.

Urban Outfitters is also set to open its first store in Oxford at the Westgate shopping centre on 6 December.
