Value of the pound jumps amid ‘soft-Brexit’ speculation

The value of sterling hit a three-month high against the euro on Thursday after Brexit secretary David Davis said the UK might pay to access to the single market.

The value of the pound rose to €1.19 and $1.27 after Davis made the comments in the House of Commons.

Following the result of the European Union referendum, sterling fell to $1.14 – a 31-year low against the dollar.
