Vente-privee UK sales jump 22%, the French flash Sales site, reported a 22% rise in UK sales in the 12 months to December 31, helping lift global turnover to €1.6bn(£1.3bn).

Vente-privee said it operated 10,100 flash sales worldwide in 2013, up 65% year on year. The site produced 973 sales in the UK.

The UK remains vente-privee’s biggest m-commerce market, with 37% of turnover and 41% of visits generated from mobile devices.

Chief executive Jacques-Antoine Granjon told Drapers his UK plans this year included attracting more high-end fashion brands and expanding into other categories including travel and wine.

In the past year vente-privee hired 624 employees, bringing its total headcount to 2,000.
