Private sales website Vente-privee.com has appointed Hervé Parizot to the new role of chief operating officer to head up its international growth plans.
Parizot joins Vente-privee.com from toy manufacturer Mattel, where he was southern European and northern European president. Prior to that he was Mattel’s chief operating officer.
Parizot will spearhead Vente-privee.com’s international expansion strategy. The etailer recently opened four subsidiaries in Barcelona, London, Düsseldorf and Milan and its long-term strategy is to continue to invest in international operations.
Vente-privee.com chief executive and founder Jacques Antoine Granjon said of Parizot: “Since we first met, I’ve been impressed by his experience, leadership and energy. With Hervé Parizot at my side, we’ll be better placed to face the challenges and expansion that lie ahead of Vente-privee.com.”
Vente-privee.com reported a 33% rise in net sales to £610m for 2009, of which 15% came from international markets. It has forecasted a net turnover of £763m for 2010. UK sales are forecasted to grow 167% to £7.2m in 2010.
