Very and Holly Willoughby part ways

Presenter Holly Willoughby will cease to be the face of online retailer Very after this autumn, ending a four-year partnership between the two.

According to Drapers’ sister publication Retail Week, the etailer is turning its attention to new brands and designers, although it will continue to work with Fearne Cotton. Willoughby has fronted 12 collections with the Shop Direct-owned business since its launch in 2009.

The retailer is this month launching its Definitions range, which targets a slightly older, professional woman. Drapers has previously reported that this will preface a streamlining of Shop Direct’s sub-brands.

Very retail director Jon Owen said: “Holly helped us to launch and has done a great job designing feminine, flattering clothes for real women. Holly has played a big part in our success over the last four years and we’d like to thank her for a great partnership and wish her all the best for the future.”

Willoughby added: “After four great years working with on my clothing ranges, I have made the decision that the autumn 13 collection will be my last so I can focus on other areas of my life and different new projects.”
