VF International's group president to retire in 2017

Karl Heinz Salzburger, vice president of VF Corp and group president of VF International, will retire at the end of 2017 after 20 years at the business.

Salzburger will remain in position until the end of March, when he will become special advisor to the chief executive, to ensure a smooth transition.

Steve Rendle will become chief executive of VF Corp on 1 January 2017, replacing Eric Wiseman, who will continue to serve as executive chairman.

Since Salzburger joined VF Corp in 1997, he has held a number of roles including president of The North Face, chief executive of The North Face and president of Europe, Middle East and Africa [EMEA] and Asia for VF. He moved into his current role in 2008.

Aidan O’Meara, who is currently ‎president of VF Asia Pacific, will replace Salzburger on 1 April. He will report into Rendle. O’Meara joined VF in 1992, leading the Wrangler brand business in Ireland.

Under the new structure, Martino Scabbia Guerrini will become president of VF’s EMEA region, a newly created position, and Kevin Bailey will become president of VF’s Asia-Pacific region. Both will report into O’Meara.
