Victoria’s Secret is poised to sign for a store at Westfield London, Drapers has learned.
The US lingerie retailer is understood to be nearing an agreement on a lease for a 12,000 sq ft unit that is expected to house collections from its mainline and Pink sub-brand. It is thought the store will open later this year.
Property firm CBRE is believed to have acted for the retailer with Westfield dealing direct, however both parties declined to comment. Victoria’s Secret had not responded to requests for a comment as Drapers went to press.
Drapers also understands Victoria’s Secret has agreed terms to take similar-sized units at the Hammerson-owned Birmingham Bullring and Brent Cross shopping centresn. This is thought to be part of a wider strategy to take stores in key locations throughout the UK.
Victoria’s Secret debuted in the UK two years ago, with its first store opening at Westfield Stratford just days before the start of the London Olympics. Since then it has opened on Bond Street – which it is now expanding into a four-storey flagship – and at Stansted Airport.
