Victoria’s Secret to make UK debut

US lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret is set to launch in the UK, according to reports.

The brand will open two to three new stores in London next summer, the first of which will be a 16,000 sq ft unit in New Bond Street.

Martyn R. Redgrave, Executive Vice President at the brand’s parent company Limited Brands Inc. announced the launch in the company’s second quarter earnings webcast yesterday, adding that the move would be a test run for a roll-out of mall stores in the UK.

A country-by-country international roll out is also planned, with 39 locations projected in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, and South America, the company said.

Victoria’s Secret has become famous in the US in recent years for its celebrity led fashion shows, featuring Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen and Tyra Banks among others. It currently has 1000 US stores.
