Video: Adidas launches Originals campaign with creative competition

Sportswear giant Adidas has launched its Originals campaign with a “video clash” between DJ A-Trak and Parisian visual artist So Me.

The video, which features music created by looping urban sounds, is one of several “collisions” between music and visual artists to advertise the brand’s latest collection. Other contributors include rapper Iggy Azalea, artist Evan Roth and videographer Colin Solal Cardo.

It clicks through to a competition run by Adidas to receive funding to “create something original”.

Entrants must “produce their own collisions” incorporating at least one reference to Adidas Originals, such as a logo or item of clothing.

Winning submissions will be displayed across Adidas’ official YouTube channel and in the London and Liverpool flagship stores. They also receive a £5,000 bursary and the chance to work with Adidas on its next campaign.
