Phoebe Philo, creative director of Celine, scooped the British Designer of the Year award at the British Fashion Awards.

The awards, held at The Savoy Hotel in London last night and organised by the British Fashion Council, also saw Mulberry walk away with the Designer Brand of the Year gong. Patrick Grant took home the Menswear Designer award for his label E. Tautz while stylist Nicola Formichetti received the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.
Designer Lee Alexander McQueen received a posthumous award for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design. McQueen, the creator of the Alexander McQueen and McQ labels, had previously been awarded the British Designer of the Year award four times.
Other winners included British footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood who was awarded the Accessory Designer Award and Burberry won the Digital Award for its digital innovation including the live streaming of its fashion shows online. Meadham Kirchhoff won the Ready-to-Wear award and Husam El Odeh collected the award for Accessories.
Model Lara Stone was awarded the Model prize and presenter Alexa Chung scooped the British Style award, which was voted for by the public.
Harold Tillman CBE, chairman of the British Fashion Council said: “This year’s British Fashion Awards winners represent extraordinary talent, encompassing the best new and established designers, brands, stylists, models and innovators on all platforms of fashion.”
