John Lewis has unveiled its Christmas 2014 advertising campaign, which tells the tale of the friendship between a little boy Sam and his penguin friend Monty.
The advert sees Sam realise that Monty is looking for a companion so on Christmas Day he gives him the gift he has been dreaming of – a new penguin friend called Mabel.
The campaign features the tagline ‘Give someone the Christmas they’ve been dreaming of’ and will make its TV debut during the first advert break in Gogglebox on Channel 4 on Friday (November 7).
In the Oxford Street store, John Lewis has created Monty’s Den which uses technology from Microsoft and Google to allow children to bring their favourite toys to life and interact with Monty.
Craig Inglis, marketing director at John Lewis, said: “We hope our customers will love Monty and Mabel and they will have more chances than ever to interact with them through some genuinely exciting technology firsts.”
