Tourne de Transmission’s contemporary take on Eastern styling takes centre stage in River Island’s latest Design Forum collaboration.
The high street retailer has teamed up with menswear brand Tourne de Transmission (TDT) for the latest range in its series of collaborations with young British designers.
The collection was launched with a short film which at London Fashion Week Men’s last week and features 14 pieces to be stocked in selected River Island stores and on the store’s website.
Kimono shaping and technical fabrics feature heavily, with military inspirations and denim also appearing across ready-to-wear, accessories and footwear. Prices range from £25 for a T-shirt to £70 for a kimono jacket.
Graeme Gaughan, creative director and founder of TDT, commented: “We worked closely with River Island’s design team; first of all understanding what it was that attracted them to our aesthetic and then researching concepts together. From there we were able deliver something new and exciting for the River Island man that not only stays true to the TDT brand, but appeals to River Island’s global audience.”
Previously, River Island has worked with brands including Eudon Choi, Christopher Shannon and YMC on its Design Forum range.
