Visitor numbers increase at Premium

Berlin trade show Premium reported a 5% increase in visitors for its last edition, with steady traffic on all three days it was open.

More than 1, 400 collections were on show at the event, which was held from January 15 to 17.

There was a rise in international visitors, particularly from Asia.  Visitors from the UK and Ireland contributed towards 6% of the total attendance, doubling from the 3% seen last season.

Visitors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland continued to make up the bulk of attendees, accounting for 36% of the total, followed by Southern Europe with 24%.

Non-European visitors made up 5% of the total last season whereas they contributed 6% towards this season’s total attendance.

Co-founder Norbert Tillmann said: “The visitor traffic was tremendous. The halls were full every day and as early as 10am, the first orders were already being placed. Our special “VIB” service was designed to establish Berlin as an important destination for Asian retailers. This is a long-term investment in Berlin’s future.”
