Vivienne Westwood to open first store in Wales

Designer label Vivienne Westwood will launch its first store in Wales at the end of September.

The 2,600 sq ft store, located in St David’s shopping centre, will take its inspiration from the original Vivienne Westwood flagship store on London’s Conduit Street. It will feature large theatrical windows and a stage with classic Vivienne Westwood mannequins and the label’s iconic pink neon signature.

The Cardiff shop, at 55-57 The Hayes on Tredegar Street, opposite John Lewis and next to LK Bennett and Aveda, will stock a full range of the label’s sub-brands including Gold, Red & Man Label and Anglomania as well as accessories including footwear and bags.

The store will host a VIP party and a fashion show in autumn.

It was reported earlier this week that Vivienne Westwood returned to the black with a profit of £435,292 for 2011. The business has previously posted a loss of £610,275 in 2011 as a result of settling a tax bill.
