Classic womenswear business Viyella is in talks with shareholders and investors about the future of the company.

Viyella, which has around 100 stores and concessions, is expected to make an announcement on the future of the business on Wednesday.

One source said that management was in discussions with stakeholders about how the business would go forward, as speculation mounted about the how the Viyella was performing in the downturn.

Viyella was taken off the market by owner Harris Watson in 16 months ago, after it opted to retain the company following a three-month review by adviser SP Mergers, which looked at a potential sale.
