Walpole appoints new chief executive

Walpole has appointed Helen Brocklebank as chief executive, replacing Michelle Emmerson.

The British luxury association announced in early January that Emmerson would step down after four years.

Brocklebank spent 10 years at luxury media brands, most recently as director of editorial partnerships at Harper’s Bazaar.

She has led content partnerships with brands including Bentley’s sponsorship of Bazaar Art and Esquire’s Man at the Top Awards for Glenmorangie, as well as working on projects with Dior, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Moët et Chandon, Rémy Martin, Wedgwood and Hermès.

She said she will lead “high-impact initiatives that showcase the world-leading quality of British luxury”. Her focus will be on promoting the sector’s goods and services, as well as bringing its people to the fore.
