Value retailer Bonmarché has reported a 15.8% increase in like-for-like sales for the 13 weeks to June 28 as the warm weather heats up sales.
In a trading statement released today (July 31) store sales were up 13.5% during the quarter while online revenue increased by 53.5%.
Beth Butterwick, chief executive of Bonmarché, said the spring collection had sold well.
“We are pleased at the response of customers to our improved offering. Our new store and concession opening programme has also begun well and is on track. The good weather enjoyed during the Q1 period has had a beneficial impact on sales, although at this early stage we are not altering our expectations for the current financial year.”
Bonmarché traded from 268 stores and concessions as of June 28.
