Weird Fish to land new MD

Former Animal chief executive John Stockton has been appointed managing director of lifestyle brand Weird Fish.

Stockton, who left boardsports brand and retailer Animal in June, will take up the newly created position next month.

Stockton's remit will be to help grow the men’s, women’s and kidswear brand, which has around 450 independent retailer stockists, eight standalone stores and a turnover of around £9 million.

Stockton was chief executive of Animal for eight years and grew the business to a 60-store chain with a substantial wholesale business in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
