Passionate about product. That’s the one thing that unites all the characters I have met in my nine years here at Drapers, be they independent retailers, fashion brands, high street multiples or suppliers. Sure, the seductive glamour of the fashion industry is why most of us entered this business in the first place but fashion is about so much more than fun and frivolity.
This is an industry that is worth more than £40 billion to the economy and one that excites consumers and employs thousands of people across its various sub-sectors.
Drapers has been at the heart of the fashion industry for 122 years, tracing the changing trends and patterns of business through several wars, recessions and, let’s not forget, plenty of good times. While the shape of today’s industry is very different to that in 1887, our purpose remains the same – to deliver to you, our readers, market-leading information to help you succeed.
Over the coming months, the content of the magazine will be enhanced, with product and trend information at the heart of what we bring you each week. We will celebrate success stories and bring you the latest news while also providing a platform for you to share information to support each other through the challenges that lie ahead.
