Visitor numbers across Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City shopping centres inched up by 1% to 14.1 million over the festive period, compared with the same point last year.
Westfield recorded more than 800,000 visitors across both shopping centres in the final weekend before Christmas, bringing footfall in the week before Christmas to 1.85 million.
Footfall stood at 320,000 on Boxing Day. Meanwhile 850,000 people visited the two shopping centres during the Black Friday Sales.
Westfield UK and Europe chief marketing officer Myf Ryan attributed the increase to “unique and immersive” experiences offered at the shopping centres over the Christmas period.
These included celebrity Gwen Stefani performing during Westfield London’s Christmas lights switch-on, the launch of clothing and footwear rental pop-up Style Trial and a pop-up ice bar.
