Wolsey managing director Danny Brown exits

Wolsey and Blk Dnm managing director Danny Brown has left the business, Drapers can reveal.

The men’s brands are both owned by Jamey Hargreaves, son of Matalan founder John Hargreaves.

Brown joined Julien Macdonald, which is also part-owned by Hargreaves, as financial controller in June 2009 before becoming interim general manager in December 2009.

He became chief operating officer at Wolsey in November 2010 and interim managing director in October 2012, taking up his role as managing director for both brands in February 2015.

Drapers understands that Eric Deardorff, the former chief executive of Garrard Jewellers, is acting as group chief executive for a collection of businesses owned by the Hargreaves family, including Wolsey, Blk Dnm, Morley and Nicole Farhi.

In a separate development, Nicole Farhi chief operating officer Julia Massey is also understood to have left the business.

Wolsey and Nicole Farhi have not yet responded to Drapers’ request for comment.
