Women charged more for 'identical' products

Women are charged up to twice as much as men for almost identical items of clothing, beauty products and toys, according to an investigation by The Times.

The newspaper looked at hundreds of items and found those targeted at women were on average 37% more expensive.

Although many of the examples given were for beauty products and toys, there were some fashion offenders.

For example, Levi’s 501 jeans for women were found to be 46% more expensive on average than the men’s version, even if they are the same size.
