Womenswear buoys John Lewis fashion sales

Fashion sales at John Lewis jumped by 2.1% in the week to 10 February, driven by a 5.4% rise in womenswear sales.

Cold weather clothing also performed well, which was up 11% on the same period last year.

Total sales for the week were up 1.7% as home sales were down 6.3%, while electricals and home technology were up 9.1%.
