YNAP confirms angora ban

Yoox Net-a-Porter Group (YNAP) is phasing out the sale of angora across all its platforms, in line with its new fur-free policy.

The luxury fashion group confirmed it will not stock items made from angora across its sites Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter, Yoox and The Outnet.

A spokesperson for YNAP said: “The Group has now stopped sourcing items and accessories made from angora across its multi-brand in-season online stores, and we are working to identify the best approach to progressively eliminate it also from the multi-brand off-season online stores.

”Products currently online on our multi-brand stores will be progressively phased out.”

Mimi Bekhechi, director of international programmes at PETA, commented: “By introducing a ban on angora in line with its ban on fur, Yoox Net-a-Porter is securing its place as the premier luxury fashion destination – now and into the future.”

Earlier this month YNAP said it would stop stocking items made from animal fur across its online stores.

  • A bit late - but very good news. Let's see if our department stores can also do the right thing.
