Yoox Net-a-Porter Group is working with US technology consultancy IBM to develop a single, shared platform across its brands and develop new in-house technology.
YNAP teams up with IBM
YNAP Group said the deal would speed up the integration across all of its brands, which include Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter and Yoox.com, minimising costs.
Alex Alexander, chief information officer of YNAP Group, told Drapers it could have taken up to two years to fully converge the group’s retail platforms otherwise.
The group will work with IBM to develop in-house technology in the areas of personalisation, mobile and app innovation, customer analytics and social media marketing.
“We want to be at the forefront of game-changing tech trends in mobile, data, social and omnichannel, our customers expect that from us so that’s where our focus is,” explained Alexander.
YNAP and IBM have also created a fashion and luxury innovation committee, a think-tank where the etailer and its brand partners can contribute ideas to IBM for the continuous development of its ecommerce solutions.
Similarly, YNAP will join the IBM customer advisory council, a forum for a select group of IBM customers, whose input can directly influence future IBM product development.
