Yorkshire textile manufacturer opens first store

Leeds-based textile manufacturer Abraham Moon & Sons has launched its first flagship store in York.

The 180-year-old business supplies 100% wool fabrics to brands including Dolce and Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Boden and John Lewis.

The new 1,700 sq ft store, in the centre of York, opened on Saturaday. Set over three floors, the space sells the company’s own brand home furnishings, accessories and clothing, as well as several external brands including Ross Barr knitwear and Butterfly Tree accessories, according to The Yorkshire Post.

This store joins a factory outlet store and a second small store near Settle, with the business hoping to expand to six stores in locations including Oxford and Bath.

Commenting on the opening, John Walsh, CEO of Abraham Moon, said: “It’s a major leap forward but we are confident our classically British fashion designs and genuine Yorkshire made products will strike a chord with both local shoppers and tourists alike.”
