Yves Saint Laurent appoints new chief executive

Luxury label Yves Saint Laurent has appointed Francesca Bellettini as its new chief executive.

Bellettini joins the French fashion house from Bottega Veneta - another Kering-owned brand - where she is an executive director, overseeing all aspects of merchandising, visual display and communication.

She will succeed Paul Deneve, on September 1. Deneve is moving to Apple, where he will work on special projects, as a vice president reporting directly to chief executive Tim Cook.

The shake up in management will also see creative director Heidi Slimane gaining the additional role of supervising “all strategic projects for the brand.”

The parent company of brands including Saint Laurent, Gucci and Puma said revenue for the luxury division advanced 6.4% compared to the same quarter the previous year.
