Germany-based etailer Zalando increased sales by 25% to €916.4m (£786.1m) for the second quarter compared to 2015, and increased its full-year EBIT margin guidance to 4-5.5%.
It said EBIT reached €80.9m (£69.4m) for the quarter, at the upper end of its preliminary results announced last month which was between €68m (£57m) and €88m (£74m).
The firm has signed deals with brands including Fenty by Rihanna, Club Monaco, Ivyrevel and Kate Spade and ran a successful campaign with Sir Philip Green and Beyonce’s joint venture label Ivy Park in the second quarter.
It is poised to relaunch Berlin trade show Bread & Butter as a consumer trend event in September and will host Italian luxury label Marni, which will give a preview of a footwear collaboration created for Zalando. Tommy Hilfiger’s Tommy x Gigi collaboration collection with model Gigi Hadid will also debut at the event.
The firm said its app downloads have doubled in the last 12 months, with app orders up by 90% on the previous year.
It had 18.8 million active consumers by the end of the second quarter.
