Zara plunders John Lewis to recruit UK property manager

Inditex UK has appointed Holly Ledson, John Lewis’s acquisitions and development manager, as its first head of property.
Ledson has been drafted in to help drive expansion of Spanish group Inditex’s Zara, Massimo Dutti, Pull and Bear and Bershka chains in the UK.

Ledson joined John Lewis as part of the team that spearheaded the retailer’s plans to double its store portfolio. She was previously at Inditex rival H&M, where she helped to grow the Swedish fashion chain to more than 100 stores in the UK.

Inditex plans to open at least 15 stores in the UK this year across its Zara, Massimo Dutti and Bershka fascias, as well as launching young fashion chain Pull and Bear in the UK.

Locations will include the Liverpool One development, which opens this summer, and the Westfield London shopping centre in White City, which will launch at the end of the year.

John Lewis has appointed Andrew Mills to replace Ledson. He joins from Monsoon, where he was acquisitions and disposal manager.
