Zara is planning to launch an augmented reality (AR) experience across 120 of its flagships globally from 18 April.
The project will enable users that have downloaded the Zara AR app to view models wearing selected items from Zara’s ranges on their screens, when their mobile devices are held up to store windows or sensors in the shop. Users will then be able to click through and buy the items.
The app will also allow users to see online purchases when holding their device over a package.
The initiative is part of a wider digital push that saw Zara trial an online-only shopping experience in Westfield London in January.
