Zatchels appoints Greg Tufnell as chairman

Accessories brand Zatchels has appointed former Burton and Mothercare managing director Greg Tufnell as chairman with immediate effect.

Tufnell will work with directors Dean Clarke and Brian Brady in the newly-created position, providing a supporting role in day-to-day business activities as well as being “instrumental” in the company’s long-term strategic business development and planning.

He will continue to be a managing partner of business growth advisory firm HB Prime Advantage where he has worked since February 2012.

The handbags are manufactured in Leicester by a 70-strong work force. Another 30 people are expected to be employed in the next year. Zatchels is in 300 outlets worldwide with a UK presence that includes House of Fraser, Oliver Bonas, Selfridges and Bichester Village.

The company will make be showing at tradeshow Pure for the first time this weekend (Aug 4-6).
