We are delighted to have sponsored the Next Generation Academy for the third year running, and we need to congratulate the Drapers team for organising such an interesting and stimulating programme. The venue, Altitude on the Thames, and the hospitality suited the occasion perfectly.

We are certain the Academy will continue to grow, and is destined to become one of the pivotal industry events of the year. The calibre of the attendees was very high indeed this year. The young guests are expert networkers.

The importance of the day is underlined by the calibre of the guest speakers who are now willing to give up their time to pass on their experiences and views to the young audience. There were no fewer than seven chief executives speaking this year, which shows how far the event has come in only three years.

Two main facts stood out for me this year – I was really impressed by how many of the attendees have already started their own small businesses, and how far and how fast trading has moved into mobile communications and social media. This is the future and has massive implications for how we are all going to be doing business from now on. The future is now and these delegates showed how at home they are in this new world and how they intend to make full use of it within their careers.
