High street giant Next launches its summer television ad campaign tonight around ITV soap Coronation Street.
The ad features Brazilian model Emanuela de Paula, alongside the new face of Next menswear, the former boyfriend of actress Natalie Portman, Nathan Bogle.
The ad features a couple having a whirlwind romance in continental cafes, on a boat trip and in a vintage convertible on a leisurely coastal drive.
Bogle emerges from a glistening swimming pool to embrace De Paula who is dressed in a statement black one-piece. De Paula also wears a series of bold floral prints, stripes, kaftans and dresses with tribal-inspired bracelets and earrings.
The ad is set to Gwen Stefani’s song “Sweet Escape”.
Next’s retail marketing director Christine Gerrard told Drapers: “We wanted it to have very much a South European theme - a scene of nostalgia for the summer. It also showcases the holiday/pack wish-list, and is a progression from last year’s ad.”
Gerrard said this year’s ad spend was in line with last year. The TV campaign will be supported by a national print campaign in the weekend newspapers.
