Belgian designer Olivier Theyskens has become artistic director of US brand Theory.
Theyskens, who also designs the Theyskens Theory label set to launch in spring, now has design responsibility for the whole Theory brand.
Theyskens debuted in the fashion arena in 1997 and is known for his ethereal, romantic and dark fashion aesthetic and has designed for Rochas and Nina Ricci.
Theory launched 13 years ago and the first collection to be designed by Theyskens will launch in autumn 11.
Istvan Francer, Theory’s design director, is understood to be set to move to another brand within Theory’s Japanese affiliate Fast Retailing, which owns Uniqlo, according to reports.
